Friendship and Caregivers

Twice a month we offer an opportunity for those suffering memory loss and those friends who care about them to get together in solidarity and casual comfort.  Led by Judy Walpole, this group meets in the parlor.  Conversations can be around childhood vacation memories, what Christmas was like growing up, or what is the meaning of your name …. we’ve also done hymn and carol sings.  This is a safe space with love and laughter.  If you are caring for someone with memory challenges who you think would enjoy this time of fellowship, please contact Judy at the church office.

At the same time, there is a group that meets in the Gathering room for the Caregivers.  If you are caring for a spouse or loved one with memory challenges and would welcome the opportunity to sit with others in the same position, to collaborate, listen, learn, share, and otherwise connect, please let the office know.  This group is facilitated by lay leader Jeff Campbell.  This is a loving and patient space and you are encouraged to participate.
