TriCon hosts World Day of Prayer on 3/1
The World Day of Prayer is an annual religious service. In Concord, the prayer service for 2019 will be held at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 54 Walden Street in Concord, on Friday, March 1 at 11:00 AM, with a light luncheon to follow. Participants include the women of five local Concord Area Churches: Holy Family Parish, Trinity Episcopal Church, First Parish in Concord, West Concord Union Church, and Trinitarian Congregational Church (TriCon).
World Day of Prayer (WDP) is a worldwide ecumenical movement of women of many faith traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March. Each year, a different country serves as the writer of the World Day of Prayer worship service. For 2019, that country is SLOVENIA. (Those with any Slovenia connections are especially invited.)
The 2019 World Day of Prayer service will begin at the first sunrise on March 1, 2019, in the Pacific region and, following the Earth’s rotation, will spread around the world. Last year, in 2018, 100,571 services were held worldwide, in 108 countries, in 88 languages, with 1,457,479 participants.
