The 28th Concord Area CROP Walk for the Hungry will be held on Sunday, October 19th, with music and registration starting at 1:30 PM and walk start at 2:15 PM. The CROP Walk follows a scenic 7 KM route, going over the North Bridge and later up the scenic Nashawtuc Hill area in residential Concord. The Walk starts and finishes at Tricon this year.
CROP Hunger Walks are "Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty"-- neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world. The CROP Walk raises funds to support the ecumenical mission work of Church World Service in (1) worldwide emergency relief of disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes; (2) for refugee aid; and (3) for fighting the root causes of hunger through community development programs in 80 underdeveloped countries. In addition, one quarter of the funds from the CROP Walk will provide substantial contributions to the seven local hunger relief programs we support:

The CROP Walk is a fun event where friends and family can live out their faith, helping neighbors in need here and abroad.
- The Concord Carlisle HS Pep Band, 70+ strong, will play envigorating music before the Walk, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
- The Yankee Stompers Dixieland Jazz Band will entertain us during refreshments in the parish hall after the Walk.
- Many Sunday school or youth groups make colorful hunger theme banners in class and then take part in a banner contest before the start of the Walk. The winning banners get a pizza award dinner.
- All walkers with 20 sponsors or more win a free CROP Walk T shirt with youth art design. Moreover youth draw hunger art in the parish hall after the walk.
