Victoria Wagner has been our Music Director since 1986. She holds degrees in music education and organ performance from SUNY Fredonia and the New England Conservatory. She has been a recitalist at national conventions of the American Guild of Organists and the Organ Historical Society, and has performed in Iceland, Germany, Holland, and France. After holding various offices for the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, Vickie served three terms on the AGO National Council. Since then she has appeared three times on the AGO national ballot, once as President and twice as Vice-President. Her love of 19th century social dance takes her to splendid, historic ballrooms Prague, Vienna, Paris, and St. Petersburg. Vickie and her husband, organist & harpsichordist Peter Sykes, live in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood.

Business Manager, Judy Walpole has been on the Tri-Con staff since 1986. Judy has a B.A. in English from Tufts University and a Masters in Library Science from Simmons College. She has served on numerous boards and committees in Concord including six years on the Board of Selectmen. Judy and her husband, Jim have a son and daughter-in-law living in Washington, D.C. and a daughter and son-in-law in Falls Church, VA.

JudyWalpole

Director of Christian Education, Carrie O'Brien grew up in New York “in Washington Irving territory” and moved to the Boston area in her 20’s. Carrie’s career path has taken her from working with the developmentally disabled to marketing and promoting publications to finally landing her in what she calls the most rewarding, challenging and satisfying profession, other than motherhood. Carrie brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to her position as CE Director at Tri-Con. She thrives on creating programming and curriculum and hopes that through her work she can help children develop into loving, giving and accepting Christians. She lives in Concord with her husband, three children, yellow lab and beta fish.

CarrieOBrien

Administrative Assistant, Karen Lord, is a graduate of Regis College and has an MA in Psychology from Assumption College. Karen has worked for the United Church of Christ for eighteen years, the past six them at TriCon. Karen manages the reception office; produces the monthly newsletter, weekly bulletin, and Events and Comments; and supervises the office volunteers. Karen and her husband, Hal, live in Lexington with their springer-spaniel, Daisy. They have an adult daughter who lives in NY. Karen enjoys travel, gardening, reading, walking, and visits to Cape Cod.

Mary Lou Esposito, Membership Coordinator came to Tri-Con in the 1970’s to sing in the choir, finding a wonderful community in the choir loft and beyond. She took on the part-time position of Membership Coordinator in 2001, following retirement from her work in East Boston as a nurse practioner. Over the years, Mary Lou has been involved in many aspects of our church life; serving on committees, chaperoning youth mission trips and always actively participating in the choir and music program. She and her husband, Joe, live in Bedford. They have two adult children and love traveling to Chicago and California to spend time with them. Other interests include gardening, hiking, biking, cooking, cheering on the Red Sox, reading and traveling, especially to their hometown in the Hudson Valley and to Scotland, where they lived for several years.

Amy Bruning, Administrative Assistant, lives in Concord where she and her husband, Nick, raise their three children. Amy, a Bedford native, earned a B.A. in Political Science at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont. Amy and Nick have been active at Trinitarian Congregational Church for about eight years as worship participants and, more recently, as employees. (Nick is the Youth Group Leader for the senior-high students). As a family, the Brunings enjoy travel, summertime on Nantucket, and the Red Sox. Amy is an avid walker and reader and an amateur photographer.

Amy Bruning

Nick Bruning, Youth Group Leader, is a Concord native. After completing study at the University of Vermont, he and his wife lived outside of Burlington for a few years, having their first daughter there. Following that, Nick and his family enjoyed living in Seattle, Washington, before settling back here in Concord. A graduate of the North Bennet Street School in Boston, Nick works as a custom fine-furniture maker in West Concord. As the Youth Group Leader, he thrives on the energy of the senior-high youth and enjoys the many mission projects this group takes on. Nick is the father of three and enjoys parenting and coaching kids’ softball and baseball teams in the spring. He takes pleasure in walking the dogs and reading. Nantucket is his favorite place to be.

Nick Bruning

Emily Roos, Junior Choir Director, lived in Concord from the age of 9 and attended the Concord Public schools. After studying flute at Indiana University, she returned to the Boston area where she teaches both flute and piano in her Arlington studio, performs as principle flute and soloist with the Hillyer Festival Orchestra and freelances in the metro Boston area. As well, she is the Music director for Arlington Children’s Theater and has been the music director in various schools including the Concord Middle schools, Carlisle Middle school and Arlington Elementary school. She is also a licensed Kindermusik teacher. Besides her music, Emily is the mother of 2 internationally adopted children, 12 year old Victoria(born in China) and 4 year old Nicholas(born in Guatemala).

Emily Roos

Edward Schlaich, Sexton, has served as Sexton since 1992. He earned a B.S. Economics degree in 1952, and a M.A. Statistics degree in 1961 from Boston College. During the Korean conflict he served in the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations as a Special Agent. He functioned as a Specialist in Base Security Test Penetrations at USAF bases in Europe, and completed his service as a Counter Intelligence agent and liaison agent with the American Consulate monitoring USAF base security in French Morocco. Upon separation from O.S.I. with an honorable discharge, he returned to private sector employment with General Electric and the Boyd Corporation. Ed and his late wife Helen have four children.
